Why your Employees Could be your Company’s Best Marketing Tool?

Why your Employees Could be your Company’s Best Marketing Tool

A goal for any business is to have a marketing strategy that resonates with their target consumer. A strategy that builds a brand, and turns it into leads. One of the things that businesses tend not to capitalise on is using their employees as a marketing tool.  Here’s why your team could be hugely beneficial for your marketing goals.

They Have Their Own Audience and Connections

If you think about it logically, your employees could expand your brand profile massively.  Take LinkedIn alone for example.  The average number of connections each person has is in the region of 500-999.  If you have 10-20 employees who are part of your strategy and regularly post on LinkedIn – think how much additional reach your company could get.  Another tip is to get your employees to invite their connections to “follow” your corporate LinkedIn page so they can see all those posts too.

Never underestimate the value of the connections your team may have, and how impactful that can be if they use that for advocacy. Click here to view a social media management tool that could make that easier.

They Make your Brand More Human

People buy people, there’s no question about it.  That’s why it is critical that you make your brand more human.  People want to see who is behind the organisation and make it work.

Posting regular content that features your employees, or that celebrates them – it showcases the culture of who your business is at its core.  That’s why by the time the user comes through as a lead, it will typically be warmer.

If you take a look at some of the content that is pushed on social media, particularly the likes of TikTok it’s more day in a life type content, and celebratory content that goes down well.  Of course, people can easily tell if this is forced or unnatural, which will also push you as a business to think more carefully about your company culture.

They Will Have Their Own Input and Ideas

By involving your employees more in the creative process, the great news is – they will have their own ideas too!  They need to want to be part of your social media content, so they might come up with concepts that you haven’t thought of yet, or improve concepts that have been created.

It could be a good idea to have a brainstorming session with those involved or to reward for ideas.  Lots of businesses have innovation tanks where they give their employees a problem to solve and they are incentivised to come up with the best solution.  The same thing can be applied to marketing.  Give them the opportunity to shine and really be involved in your marketing strategy.

If you haven’t yet thought about ensuring you are using your team as a tool in your overall marketing strategy – then make sure it’s something you contemplate as part of your forward planning.
